Kamal Haasan's Elder Brother Chandrahasan Passes Away At 82
Reports suggest that Chandrahasan suffered a massive cardiac arrest at his daughter’s residence in London. He was known to handle Kamal Haasan’s production work
The elder brother of South Indian star Kamal Haasan,
Chandrahasan, passed away at his daughter’s residence in London on Friday. He was 82
years old and reportedly suffered a massive cardiac arrest.
Earlier in January, Chandrahasan's wife Geethamani had
passed away. She was 73.
A lawyer by profession, Chandrahasan is the father of TV
show host Anu Haasan, who was popular for her show Coffee with Anu on Vijay TV.
He was also the executive producer of Raj Kamal International.
Chandrahasan handled Kamal's home production RaajKamal
Film International, for films like Vishwaroopam, Thoongavanam and Sabash Naidu.
May his soul rest in peace.
Coming to Kamal Haasan, the actor recently made sharp
remarks on epic Mahabharata. In a recent interview to a Tamil channel, Kamal
made some critical comments that allegedly belittled the community and hurt
their sentiments. Although he didn't take the name of the epic directly, Kamal
referred to Mahabharata and said that 'a woman is gambled away in the epic' and
pointed that 'India honours such a book'.
Upset with these remarks of Kamal, the members of the
Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) have lodged a police complaint against actor Kamal
Haasan. They have called Kamal as anti-Hindu and even questioned whether he has
any guts to speak against Bible or Quran.
On the work front, Kamal Haasan's trilingual comedy
Sabash Naidu has been postponed indefinitely. His much-anticipated Vishwaroopam
2 is likely to be released in the second half of this year.
